Whispers of the Wild

She was small enough to disappear—
into thickets, into shadows, into dreams.

But when the dusk settled and the air stilled,
she danced beneath the stars with
wings not her own.

The moth came from him—
a fleeting gift of wonder
caught in a childhood that rarely held such things.

It fluttered soft as breath,
a moment of gentleness,
where there was often none.

And so she became both:
the one who watches and the one who flies,
whimsy wrapped in fur and hope.
