I built this cuff for a show I had in Jackson Hole, a place that still feels like the last of the Old West. I wanted a piece that could hold its own there that felt bold, intricate, and honest. The turquoise at the center was cut by my daughter years ago, and I’ve saved it ever since for something worthy. Layer by layer the silver grew with flowers, beadwork, rope, shadow, until it pushed my limits. It asked for courage; and I gave it days of careful work. The result is a one-of-one cuff that carries both of our hands in it, hers in the stone, mine in the metal, and the spirit of a place that makes you want to ride into big country.
